For agencies & consultants

Google Analytics audit services for agencies

Run a scored GA4 and Google Tag Manager audit for any client, then hand them a white-labelled report under your own brand. The fast way to win tracking work, prove your value, and keep clients’ analytics clean.

Buying an audit, or running your own

People searching for analytics audit services usually want one of two different things, and it is worth being clear about which one you are.

You want someone to do it for you

A consultancy audit costs roughly £500 to £5,000 and buys you interpretation, remediation and someone accountable for the result. That is worth paying for when tracking is business critical and nobody in-house owns it. Tracking Auditor is not that: it is the tool, not the consultant.

You are the one doing it

If you already know GA4 and GTM, the slow part is not the judgement, it is the inventory: reading every tag, every trigger, every key event, and cross-checking them. That is the part this automates, in about two minutes, for £120 an audit or £199 a month across every client.

Most agencies end up on both sides of that line. They run the audit here and sell the interpretation and the fix, which is the part the client is actually paying for.

Run an audit for any client

Connect a client's Google Tag Manager and GA4 with their sign-in, pick the container and property, and get a scored audit in two minutes. No code, no spreadsheets, no waiting on the dev team.

A deliverable you can send

Every audit exports to a client-ready Google Doc and a Google Sheet audit register. On the Agency plan these carry your agency name and logo, not ours. The client sees your brand.

Justify your recommendations

An A–F grade across weighted dimensions turns 'trust us, fix this' into evidence. Use it to win new business, scope retainer work, or prove the value of a tracking clean-up.

White-label, end to end

On the Agency plan you set your agency name and upload your logo once. From then on every exported Google Doc and Google Sheet is branded as yours, with no mention of Tracking Auditor. Run unlimited audits across all your clients for one flat monthly fee.

What every audit covers

Five weighted dimensions, graded A–F, with a separate compliance flag. Four are scored from the client’s GA4 and GTM connection alone.

Consent architecture30%Whether tags wait for consent (GDPR) or honour opt-out (US) before they fire.
GTM tag governance20%Container hygiene: duplicate tags, orphaned triggers, test properties in production.
GA4 event quality20%Property config plus 30 days of live data: spam referrals, UTM misuse, attribution gaps.
Cookie classification15%Whether each cookie is correctly blocked before consent is granted. Scored only when you paste the client's cookie declaration, since the Google APIs do not expose it.
Conversion integrity15%Gaps between GA4 conversions and GTM tags that corrupt reporting and ad bidding.

Each dimension has a deep-dive guide: consent mode, GTM governance, GA4 event quality, cookie classification and conversion integrity. For the manual version of the whole thing, see the Google Analytics audit guide.

What you hand the client

A Google Doc report

The grade, the dimension scores, the compliance flag, and every finding written out in plain language with what it means and how to fix it, ordered by severity. This is the document you present in the meeting.

A Google Sheet audit register

Every check as a row, with its status and evidence. This is the working file the developer or the client’s team actually ticks off, and the thing you re-run against after the fixes ship.

Both carry your branding on the Agency plan. See a complete sample report before you run one.

Agency questions

What does a Google Analytics audit cost?

A consultancy audit typically runs £500 to £5,000 depending on scope and who does it. Tracking Auditor runs the same checks for £120 per audit, or £199 a month for unlimited audits across every client on the Agency plan. The first audit is free, so you can see the output before paying.

Should I buy an audit service or run my own?

If you need someone to interpret the findings, rebuild the tracking and take responsibility for the outcome, buy the service. If you already know GA4 and GTM and need the inventory work done fast, run it yourself. Agencies usually do both: they run the audit here and sell the interpretation and the fix, which is the part clients actually pay for.

Can I remove Tracking Auditor branding from the report?

Yes. The Agency plan white-labels the Google Doc and Sheet exports with your agency name and logo. Tracking Auditor is not shown to your client.

How many clients can I audit?

The Agency plan is unlimited. Run as many audits across as many client accounts as you need for one flat monthly fee.

Do I need access to the client's account?

You audit using the client's Google sign-in and read-only access to their GTM and GA4. Nothing is changed in their setup. The audit only reads configuration and data.

What if the client will not grant access?

Read-only access to GTM and GA4 is required for a full audit, because the audit reads live configuration rather than guessing from the page source. If you cannot get access at all, the free GTM Inspector reads what is in the live container from the public page, which is often enough to start the conversation.

How long does an audit take?

About two minutes per client once the account is connected. The manual equivalent is four to eight hours for a typical site, and longer for a large container.

Can I resell the audits to clients?

Yes. The Agency plan exists for exactly that: unlimited audits, your branding on the deliverable, one flat fee regardless of how many clients you run them for.

Is the audit a final compliance verdict?

No. Findings are signals to verify, not legal advice. They flag where to look so you and the client can confirm with your own review.
